Between Kagawa Prefecture and Okayama Prefecture, together with Toshima and Inujima, as a main island of the art activity “Benesse Art Site Naoshima” organized by Benesse Corporation, many foreign tourists are visiting today.

Many artworks in Naoshima were set up by Benesse Corporation which oversees museums, installations and sculptures on Naoshima and surrounding islands.

The architecture of the underground museum, Lee Ufahan museum, Benesse House etc. was designed by Mr. Tadao Ando, ​​a famous Japanese architect. In addition, the buildings and schools in the town of Naoshima were designed by modern architect Kazuhiro Ishii. Naoshima is the main venue of the Setouchi Triennale Art Festival held once every three years.
