Halal Ramen Honolu at Ebisu
Halal Ramen Honolu, which provides Halal ramen, opened in April 2016 as the first Halal ramen shop in Osaka. After that in January 2017 the Ebisu branch also opened as a halal ramen shop.
The main menu is ramen with bird soup, it is the most popular menu. In addition to that, they have prepared the spicy ramen which Asians prefer.
Halal Gyoza is also available in the side menu. It usually use pigs for dumplings, but here Halal Gyoza uses Tempe(Fermented foods using soybeans in Indonesia) instead of pigs. So Muslim people can be safe to eat.
The reason they thought Honolu decided to make Halal Ramen was the desire to eat delicious Halal Ramen, which can be eaten in Muslims, from Muslims in the Kobe Mosque. Honolu though that “We want people of the world to eat our delicious ramen”, so they decided to develop ramen for Muslims on this occasion.
In developing Halal Ramen, they received advice from Halal support groups and international students from Muslims and worked on the development of Ramen for Muslims. We have repeatedly researched day and night in order to make ramen which Japanese people and other foreigners can eat delicious even if they eat.
The impression that I actually ate was nothing like normal ramen, it was very rich and tasty ramen.
The inside of the ramen shop, there is a prayer space on the second floor so you can pray as well as eat lunch.
