Special spot worth to visit in central Tokyo – what site do you remind? Gardens and temples – already visited. Tsukiji fish market – already visited. Sushi restaurant – raw fish is not your taste. Famous bland shops – too expensive, or have same shop in your country too. Museums in Ueno – too crowded. Hot spring – too hot to you. Mt. Fuji climbing – not good season. Seems you have already experienced Tokyo very well! How about cars? Specially Japanese sport cars?
Nissan Crossing is located at the Ginza 4 chome crossing. It is very impressive and beautiful building designed by famous architect office Klein Dytham architecture. The building wall has motif of Japanese traditional fretwork. You can find it easily at the crossing.
At the site there was the head-quarter of Nissan Motor Corporation until 2009. Currently Nissan has their head-quarter in Yokohama area. This Ginza site is Nissan Gallery to show their history, famous sport cars, vehicles models and presentation about their latest technology.
Cars shown in the site are been changed periodically. When we visited, on the grand floor, there were a concept car 2020 Vision Gran Turismo which is very impressive mat-red car, and Nissan Formula E. On the 2nd floor, there were famous GT-R which you can get in, and Nissan Leaf Nismo RC. Also, on the 2nd floor we could have great experience with a virtual reality attraction “e-gravity.” You can experience 4D air-walking over Ginza 4th crossing in robot-arms.
These cars and attractions can be experienced freely for all visitors. However it is sometime very crowded in weekend so it is better to visit on Mon-Fri. If you are with kid who is not very interested in shopping, he/she will be so excited. Also there are small boutique on the floor you can buy Nissan mini-car and small café, so you can spend 1 hour even if you are not very Nissan fan.
Their presentation has changed in some duration so it is recommended to visit periodically if you are big fan of Nissan. Presentation person can give you a leaflet of each Nissan car in case you have plan to buy a car.
